  • August is here and with it comes our annual "Hero Month". Buckle yourselves in for a bumpy ride. We kick things off tomorrow with Hero WoDs two days back to back! But for now le'ts turn our attention to some solid lifting.
  • The Overhead Squat is the epitome of athletic movement. Some can bar intimated or put off by the term "athletic" or "athlete" thinking these terms are reserved for the elite only. The truth is that we can all be athletes for moments of time. Just because we aren't running onto the hallowed turf of the MCG or are competing at the CrossFit Games, doesn't mean we can't call ourselves athletes.
  • Yes, it does in part come down to showing some ability in whatever discipline that is the task but it also comes from our state of mind. Or as it is now more commonly referred to as "mindset". If you believe you aren't fit to be considered an athlete then the chances are you won't ever be one. If you however you have that belief in yourself then you will indeed prosper. By essence an "athlete" is someone who shows proficiency in movement. We tasked pride in teaching our community to move very well. By this very fact we then believe that you ALL are athletes in our eyes!
  • Todays movement is going to prove that. The load will heavy to everyone in a relative sense (ass it always does). Make this move a strength of yours and show us your athleticism!!
  • Hold the standards. Form is priority as always.
  • Scale as needed.
  • Stay Humble. Work Hard. Be Happy.
