  • The CrossFit Open is just around the corner and with it will come many challenges that you may not see coming or think that you are ready for.
  • Let us reassure you that by doing CrossFit you ARE very much as ready as you can be to tackle whatever they throw at us.
  • However with that said, today we will tackle a tricky movement that popped up in the Open for the very first time last year. Handstand Walking! 'HS'-walking is a fine skill to have up your sleeve. It's not only for elite gymnasts you know. We mere mortals get to play too!! We will work in a Skill-woD today were we can add some "play" to our Fitness. We will put 10 minutes up on the clock in which to see just how far we can "walk on our hands for. For those who aren't yet ready to walk inverted there will be scaling options on offer to help get there. But we always want to promote development so if you want to give 'HS' walking a try lets go! #wefailatthemarginsofourexperience
  • In the Workout that follows we will be using a rep scheme that has in the past appeared in the Open. We will use a an old classic combination of Deadlifts & Handstand Push-Ups. We will work off of some percentages today. The bar will start to feel somewhat Heavy pretty soon! Shame there'll be a burpee penalty if you cannot go unbroken!
  • Oh & did we forget to mention that the first rep if every HSPU set must be strict!

  • Scale as needed.
