 Strength WoD:

Thruster

5 - 5 - 5 - 5 - 5

  • The Thruster is such an amazing all-rounder movement. you can use it for absolute strength, strength endurance, flat-out Fitness. It all comes down to simple choices in the loading. Go heavy with low reps, go lighter with high reps. Or blur the lines between strength h& conditioning and go heavy with high reps!!
  • Really work to find your speed coming out of the bottom. Sure, at the initial moment coming out of your deepest position you won't feel any speed but as you get taller and you start to approach the point at which you'd be fully standing up, you want to find that "zing" and pop in the hips!! Really squeeze that backside and just watch that bar jump off your shoulders! If you act at thew right "moment of opportunity" you will get enough of a start on the bar to launch hot overhead!!
  • Enjoy today. Going heavy for 5 reps is hard but will give you heaps of confidence in that movement no matter what rep scheme is thrown at you!!
  • Fun Fun Fun!!
  • Hold the standards. Form is priority as always.
  • Scale as needed.
