Complete 3 Rounds For Time

of:

30 (22) Calorie Row

15 Clean & Jerks

M: 60kg --- | --- W: 40kg

If on the Assault Bike, Cals are = 25 (20)

.

  • You might be thinking one of two ways when reading this workout. You could be down the mindset of = This one is "just" 3 rounds. It is "only" 15 reps on the barbell. The weight "isn't that bad". On the other end of that spectrum you might be thinking "oh my gosh, 3 rounds?!" Or "45 reps at that weight?!". Both of these camps can have a successful day IF they find their own "relative intensity".
  • What is relative intensity you ask? Well, simply put it is YOUR OWN level of psychological and physiological tolerance. How hard are YOU willing to push yourself? How fast are YOU willing to go? What is YOUR prior experiences in this type of stuff? All of these factors will help you determine your relative intensity. This is also where SCALING comes in.
  • Wherever you find yourself in terms of thinking about this WoD find yourself a scale option that helps you live within your tolerances of your intensity level. Pull the calories down, make the load lighter on the barbell. There are not that many occasions where just doing the "RX" standards "because you can" is the right choice. Just because you move a 60kg clean & jerk does it mean you can move 6-7 reps in a row, move it fast and do so as soon as you get off your rower???
  • If you still choose the RX weight and weren't able to move that bar fast then you need to choose a lower weight as it was your physical tolerance that was comprised. If you were to choose a lower weight on the next occasion & it doesn't change how fast you were able to do the WoD then it was the phycological tolerance that was the limiter (you weren't able or willing to get really uncomfortable).
  • Scaling is a fine line and one that we strive everyday to get it right with you to get you those results you desire. Remember one thing: INTENSITY = RESULTS.
  • Time to light your hair on fire!
  • Hold the standards. Form is priority as always.
  • Scale as needed.
