 Strength WoD:

Deadlift

10 - 10  -10 - 10 - 10

.

  • The Deadlift. One of the biggest "bang-for-buck" strength moves out there. Our ability to pick things off of the ground and put them down again carries with it perhaps one of the biggest facets of human independence. Couple that with the ability to sit down & stand up again (squatting) and you have a recipe for a person who WON'T need someone looking after them for a long long time!!!
  • Now, along with the functional side of things, picking something heavy off the floor (SAFELY!) and then returning it to the floor (Again, SAFELY!) will do wonders for developing a large array of important/vital muscle groups. We won't go into the geekery of the "Posterior Chain" and and all that, (we'll leave that to the Instagram Coaches!), but suffice to say this movement will build a strong body! Do it TEN times in a row to complete a set and you will be not only building valuable strength but also some serious capacity! There are not too many out in there in the "real world" that will be picking something as heavy as you will be today! Go ahead, go into work and ask your colleagues. We bet there's a high chance they can't and if by chance they say they do we can also bet they won't be lifting it as technically well as you! (Then kindly tell them where to find us and you will bag yourself a referral bonus!!!).
  • Get in, lift heavy, be safe, high five, ring that bell!!
  • Fun Fun Fun!!
  • Hold the standards. Form is priority as always.
  • Scale as needed.
