    I know it sounds cliché but joining CrossFit CBD has literally changed my life! I was introduced to CrossFit in Wellington, NZ and fell in love with the style of work out.  When I moved to Melbourne I tried out a couple of boxes before stumbling across CF CBD.

    If I had to list the top three things I love most about CrossFit CBD they would be: 1) That it is on a Rooftop & at a convenient City location to where I work & live. 2) The classes are capped so you are never lost in the crowd struggling to learn a movement. 3) The coaches themselves.

    Right from day one I felt part of the CBD Family – The friends I have met through CrossFit CBD have now become some of my closest. Susan & Karl always program workouts that are challenging yet fun to everyone, they always demonstrate all of the movements in detail along with all of the scaling options so everyone can do a version of the same “WOD”.

    Since starting at CBD I have improved my technique, set several PR’s (Personal Records) and always felt supported & encouraged to challenge myself, not just by Karl & Susan but all of the CBD Family.

    I would recommend joining Crossfit CBD to anyone who is interested! The first time up the stairs is the hardest….but you won’t regret it!

    Before I started at CrossFit CBD I couldn’t squat, had work related back & wrist problems and generally had a negative relationship with exercise. It would be no exaggeration to claim that CrossFit has changed my life; my physical ability has improved but not just that, my injury problems have cleared and my outlook on what I can achieve and what I am capable of has changed. The thought “I can’t do that” still occasionally pops up but mostly with the extra word “yet” added. Little by little I’ve added the extra weights to that bar, managed to get up onto the pull up bars and am looking forward to one day mastering the overhead squat!

    The Coaches Karl & Susan have helped me immensely to learn and execute the foundational movements of CrossFit; they really had their work cut out when I first started! True to the testament that CrossFit is universally scalable, with their help I have gone from not being able get out of a regular squat without any weight at all in the beginning to being able to do a max weight back squat of over 50kg and being able to rep out that initial pesky weightless squat over 50 times in succession! (much to my own surprise!)

    What I think I love most about CrossFit CBD is the community feel. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive, there is a real team atmosphere where people are encouraged, pushed and genuinely cared about. The programming is varied and challenging but always fun. My negative relationship with exercise has done a big 180 and I actually dislike rest days!

    I can’t wait to find out what else I’m capable of with the help and guidance of Karl & Susan at CrossFit CBD!
